Diamond CutCut, one the four C's, is one of the most important factors to consider when buying a diamond as the difference between a good cut and an excellent cut is noticable to the naked eye and will drastically affect the aesthetic of the diamond. It covers the fractions of the facets that are cut into the diamond and their effect on how well light than travels within the diamond. An excellent diamond cut will leak less light and therefore reflect more light back out the top of the diamond. Another advantage of excellent cut is that refraction from the table facets will increase which in term improves the diamond's fire (the flashes of colour caused by refraction) and scinitllation (the flashes of light reflected from the top facets). |

Diamond PriceDiamond prices are dynamic and therefore subject to change, which can sometimes be sizeable differences. Often you will see two diamonds with the same certificate factors (so on paper they are the same), but they will often have diamond prices. The reason for this is due to a number of factors but most commonly the price difference will be driven by the quality of rough diamond. So things such as natural reflective and refractive indexes and the luster of the diamond will not show up on the paperwork but will increase or decrease a diamond's value and apperance. |
